The new year started with the official adoption of new Statutes for the BDVA association including a new name: DAIRO (read more here), and with the launch of many interesting activities and opportunities for our community. BDVA/DAIRO organised on the 13th of January a workshop on the Data Governance Act during which members and projects could discuss about the opportunities and challenges brought by this important initiative. Furthermore, the workshop allowed the Association to develop a common position to submit to the public consultation on Data sharing in the EU – common European data spaces. A first Activity Group meeting for the year 2021, focusing on European Data Spaces, Horizon Europe and Digital Europe Programme, ,new collaborations and updates from the Task Forces, is being organised for the 4th of February.

The month of January has also been very busy for BDV PPP projects, with several open calls up and running and the planning of future activities. Three new BDV PPP projects started on the 1st of January 2021 and you will hear more about them in the next newsletters. In the meantime, you can find several exciting news from the ongoing projects in this newsletter.
