Dear Big Data Value Community,
Summer is here! June has been a very intense and productive month for our community, projects, and collaboration partners.
During the three weeks of Data Week 2022, 9 of the BDVA i-Spaces organised local activities, and the community held a total of 34 online sessions, discussing AI and Data challenges. Topics included Digital Twins in the computing continuum, Data Spaces, Data for trustworthy AI, new regulation, innovation and experimentation, standardisation, and many others. Over 250 speakers and over 1000 participants joined Data Week 2022, which was wrapped up on the 8 and 9th of June in sunny Naples: It was so good to see you there!
All of the Data Week recordings are published - watch and share here.
BDVA has been also involved in partners’ events: IoT Week in Dublin and MyData 2022 conference in Helsinki, bringing topics such as Metaverse for industry and the new society, balance innovation-regulation for Trustworthy AI, the Federation of BDVA i-Spaces and ethical data-driven innovation. BDVA i-Spaces were put in the spotlight in the European Commission’s Launch event for the Spanish Regulatory Sandbox on Artificial Intelligence when BDVA Secretary-General Ana García Robles introduced their potential for developing the sandboxes. Watch the event recording here.
Many of the new Horizon Europe projects are about to start very soon, and the first wave of Digital Europe Programme projects are working in the Grant agreement preparations, kicking off right after summer. Our community is heavily involved in all these activities. Exciting moments! Moreover, new calls for Data and AI opened in June and several brokerage activities were organised during the month and continue…
BDVA i-Spaces are our key instrument for fostering data-driven innovation in Europe, and we will launch the open call for labels to accept new i-Spaces, the data-driven experimentation incubators and ecosystems, very soon!
Several papers are on their way in relation to Data Spaces and Interoperability, privacy-preserving technologies, and the road-mapping activities will continue after summer. We are also working at full speed on the BDVA flagship event: the European Big Data Value Forum 2022, which will be held in Prague, Czech Republic from 21 to 23 November. The theme of this year is: “At the heart of the ecosystem for Data and AI”. We will open the registration and sponsoring options very soon, so follow the event website and our channels for news. Do not miss out on the opportunities our flagship event offers!
We wish you a happy summer!
